Iwalani turned two years old yesterday. My how time flies. She surprised us and came 2 weeks early, weighing in just shy of 8 lbs. 8lbs of calm, happy, contentedness of a baby (well, after we discovered she was allergic to dairy products and put a stop to her sad hysterical screaming at bedtime).
Fast forward 2 years and she is 20-something pounds of active, hopping, thumb sucking, climbing, dumping, outdoorsy, throwing, little girl. Of course she is a loving, asks for "Noa" (Kainoa) all the time, loves kissing her stuffed animals, and loves to do puzzles and matching games kind of girl.
-Frosty the Snowman, or as she says, "Yowmans." Asks, no, demands, the show every day since we checked it out from the library a week ago. We took it back so now we let her watch little pieces of it on YouTube if she is good.
-Hummus. Give her a carrot and she'll eat about a 3/4 cup of hummus with it. Won't eat the carrot, just the hummus.
-Anything sugary.
-Jumping on the bed and landing on her bum.
-Steamroller. Meaning her getting steamrolled.
-Avoiding a diaper as long as she can. No, she is not ready for potty training. Far from it actually.
-Watering the plants outside. And herself.
-Giving hugs to Kainoa when she first wakes up.
-Nursery at church. Thank goodness.
-Singing along with songs, or at least trying to in her little language.
Her dislikes:
-Anything that resembles a vegetable. It's tricky sneaking veggies into her food, but it's possible.
-Going to bed. It's getting tough. She used to like it. She would welcome it gladly and giggle when we'd lay her down in bed.
-Sitting on the potty. She says, "uh uh."
-Not being able to go with Kainoa when Kainoa goes to her friends' houses.
Here's Iwalani last year for her birthday. My mom made one of her massive cakes (with cream cheese frosting...mmmmm) for her. I think she looks a little overwhelmed.
